HVAC Designer Revision History

Thanks to everyone that has reported problems and/or wishes for the HVAC Designer. Without your help, we could not provide the system as it currently exists. We test everything, but not under the varying conditions you work, you do a much better job. The following listing is a result of your help and input.

2007 - 07-24-06

  • Corrected all reported bugs in the system.
  • Added ability to place the supply, return, and exhaust ductwork on separate layers.
16b - 03-01-04
  • Added Drawing Manager and Document Tabs as an integral part of Noting. See the options to load or unload these features.
  • Incorporated Noting utility revisions.
  • Tested and updated to be compatible with ACAD 2005.
  • Modified the line break command and added ability to draw a hidden line or not.
  • Validated and modified HVAC command structure to be compatible with all languages.
  • No new features added at this time.
16a - 11-16-03
  • HVAC Designer 2004 initial release.
15e - 11-06-03
  • Updated system to support metric correctly.
  • Modified license method for an easier user interface.
  • Allow the system to function when VBA is not available.
15d - 01-11-03
  • Modified the load sequence. Some computers would not load properly due to the load sequence employed. This is the first attempt to correct the problem. We now load the ARX functions and VBA before any lisp functions. We also are now establishing the selected object when the layer update dialog is called instead of setting the object as a global variable. These modifications seemed to correct the loading problems in-house. We think it will improve performance of all machines.
15c, 09-07-02
  • Layer Manager now works correctly. LM was re-written in VB, and seems to be slow at loading. That's OK at this point, it now works without crashing ACAD. We will correct the load speed in a future release.
  • Supply/Return sidewall grilles have been corrected and now insert into the drawing properly.
  • Supply/Return flow arrows came in at a scale factor of 1/'2 of what we expected. This is now at a scale factor of 1 (based on dimscale).
  • See Layer and Noting Utilitie revisions for updates and detailed revisions to the noting module. The following highlights the changes:
    a) Updated layer manager.
    b) Corrected reactors to work properly and place all noting objects on the correct layers for text, dtext, mtext, leader, qleader, and dimensions.
15b, 04-22-02
  • Corrected centerline method for fittings. 15a disregarded the intersection point for the fitting and placed the fitting out in space.
  • Ductwork and fittings now work properly with lines and lwplines.
  • Duct sections now work correctly out in space. They will also extend properly from lines and lwplines. Duct sections are now drawn as an extension from an object or in-space (not centerline) which is correct terminology.
  • Corrected plan view of offsets to continue the duct from the correct point and to provide the correct duct size.
  • All toolbar images are now located in a common dll and no longer require a special path. The directory bmp can be deleted.
15a,  03-28-02
  • HVAC Designer 2002 initial release. Available 03-28-02, supported 04-02-02
